I lived in Albania for 18 months serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer; and I worked in a small rural high school as an English teacher. Albania is going through a tumultuous time as it processes its own sense of identity in relation to the rest of Europe, especially post-communism.

Eventually after months of living in a small beach town along the southern coast, I was able to build a small community. This series of images were taken as I traveled in my town and as I traveled to see other Peace Corps Volunteers in my cohort in their respective towns and cities.
